I'm so bad about posting on my blog...and got tagged like a month ago...and now I'm finally getting to it. I was tagged by my CHA roomie and fellow Maya Road DT member, Wendy.
7 Random Facts about me~
1) I hate hot coffee...I like it lukewarm and put exactly 3 icecubes in my cup every morning...not 1, not 2 but 3!! And if Derek makes me coffee and puts the wrong amount in, I can tell!! He thinks I'm a freak!
2) I hate gardening...plain and simple, hate it!
3) I am a slob...seriously, I have no tracking system in my brain. At the end of the day when Derek comes home, he can walk around through the house and follow my trail. He always says, "I don't ever have to ask what you did today" He can tell by following my trail.
4) I have serious sleep issues. I take Ambien now, but wish that my parents had just given in when I was a kid and put me on a prescription sleep aid. I suffered throughout my child hood with sleep issues. They took me to a sleep clinic in Jr. High where they used to hypnotise me....all I needed the whole time was a tiny little pill called Ambien!
5) I am not a beach person at all. I hate the sand, the salt and the bathing suits.....I am a total mountain person, give me the fresh crisp mountain air anytime, a pair of jeans, Uggs and a warm sweater and I am one happy Woman!
6)I'm not a very social person. I'm really not. I'm sociable when I have to be, but the rest of the time I am a total homebody. Maybe it's moving to a new state every 2 years...I don't know, but I am happy not going to luncheons, parties etc....
7)I love Mexican food..I really do. Not Tex-Mex or Taco Bell...but good West Coast mexican food...Rolled Tacos, Carnitas, Beef Tacos, Carne Asada....lots of grease and guacamole!! MMMMMMmmmmmm My Fave! So glad to be back in California!!
OK, so now I'm supposed to tag 7 people...I'm not sure if I can do that, I don't know 7 people that haven't already been tagged by the original tagger...so I'll try!
1) Linda Albrecht
2) Lori Gentile
3) Molly Peckham
4) Tammy Tutterow
5) Becky Heisler
Well for now, this is all I have....I keep checking friends blogs and they have all been tagged already!!!!

An email from Daddy
Hi Girls!!
I sure miss you guys! I love you lots and lots, and am thinking about
you every day while I am out at sea. My ship is not as nice as the one
we went on, but it is very big. We have ice cream sometimes, but not as
good as the ice cream on the ship we went on. I miss the chocolate
sprinkles we had. We don't have a pool either.
My roommate is a preacher, have Mom explain what that means. He is nice,
but very quiet. I showed him your school pictures, and he said you two
are very beautiful.
Mom said you had fun up in San Elijo, where auntie and Vico were
camping. We will have to go camping some time soon, I miss it, and it is
fun to have campfires.
You and Mom will be REALLY busy getting your stuff and the house ready
to move to the new house. I wish I was there to help, make sure you give
Mom lots of help. I bet you are excited to go to the new house,
especially since there is a girl you know right down the street. You
will still be in the same school, which is good, and now you should be
able to ride your bikes and jeeps a lot more.
Your new rooms look nice in the new house, and the kitchen has a cool
counter you can eat at. We will get big stools so you can sit up at the
counter. There is even a fireplace next to the kitchen, so we can have
fires while we eat dinner, that will be very cool!!
Welp, I have to go now, I sure miss you, and I love you so much. I will
be home soon.
I wish I didn't have to leave so much, I would love to be home watching
Drake and Josh with you right now. Someday I will have a job where I
don't have to leave so much, so we just have to get through me being
gone for a little while longer.
I love Maddy, Hannah and Mom VERY VERY VERY much, and can't wait to talk
to you and hug you. You can send me emails whenever you want, just tell
Mom you want to write me.
Give Mom a hug and kiss for me!
Love you,
Dad
Man, I miss that man....

Can you Spare a Dollar? For a Paper Rose or Two!
Or a few!! I made this little box today, I haven't finished the album inside yet, because I'm not sure what I am going to do...so that will just have to wait until later. But, my whole point for this blog entry is that the Thrift Store and the Dollar Store ROCK!! I get so inspired at those stores...first they fit my budget, second it's such random stuff that you find...and third it makes me creavtive..something about the Goodwill makes my creativity come full force...I can't tell you how many things I have "re-purposed" from the thrift store.
So with that being said...yesterday at the thrift store, I found a bag with a bunch of faux pearl necklaces in it. Pretty nice quality...I always find these kind of necklace bags and always buy them for that day when I need them for a project. So, I bought another bag of pearls yesterday and then stopped at the Dollar Store. As I went into the gift wrap section to get a "Boy" birthday bag (I have plenty of frilly girly bags at home, but no boys and we have a party to go to on Friday) these paper roses caught my eye. They come with 2 roses in each package and are so pretty and vintagey looking!! Now if I had Jenni Bowlin's personal phone number, I might have to call her to tell her to run to the Dollar Tree, because these roses would "SO" fit her vintage kit themes! But being that I don't and didn't want to sound like a crazy, calling her customer service line...I just bought some for myself!
This morning, I woke up and although I have a TON of housework to do and packing to start, I had to make something with these pretties...so this is what I came up with. I used a Maya Road Box (the one that comes with the scalloped album inside) and I sprayed with with Glimmer Mist in Antique Pink. I then inked it with brown ink. I covered it with Ledger paper and used the floral green by Graphic 45 (new super cool vintage line). I poked 2 holes in top and threaded my pearls onto a wire and made a pearl handle. For some reason I am also addicted to raffle tickets. So I bought 2 big rolls at Party City. I used these to make a tag, which I inked and stamped with a Maya Road "Journey" postage stamp. I adhered some of the scalloped ric-rac ribbon around the box, stamped a flourish using my new Hero Arts stamp, tied some tulle and gingham ribbon...and attached the tag with a safety pin and DONE!!
I personally love the way it turned out and as soon as I finish this blog entry and heading straight back to the Dollar store to get more Roses!!
